He has a great website. Not only is he an international best selling author and attorney, he is a FLY ANGLER!

I love a book that opens with a wild ride — and L.M. Weeks takes readers on a heck of ride through the streets of Tokyo in his Best Selling recent release: Bottled Lightning. The entire book is a wild ride — a fast paced legal thriller.  And there are many dangerous twists along the way.

It is an intriguing story that gives us  insight into the culture of Japan as we get to know a Japanese/American intellectual property lawyer, Tornait “Torn” Sagara and his client, Saya Brooks, who invented groundbreaking technology that will change the world.  A technology that will eliminate the need for fossil fuels. An invention that will make the gas and oil industry obsolete — unless they can stop the oligarchs in Russia, China and the rest of the world can stop her.

The setting adds to the excitement of the storyline. I enjoyed learning about what it means to be a hafu (half Japanese, half American) and the familial relationships the result from a bi-racial relationship in Japan. L.M. Weeks has practiced law in both New York and in Tokyo and has used his experience in intellectual property law and world travel to bring an authenticity to Bottled Lightning. It is an international thriller that is the first in a major writing career.

This is a cinematic book and I predict that we will soon see this on the big screen –it has everything: action, location, and a romance that is nuanced by the difference in cultures. ‘

Bottled Lightning is a gripping and well-written thriller. I enjoyed talking to L. M. Weeks about his writing — and our shared love of fishing.
