Fifty years from now a apocalyptic event destroys Earth — what is the only hope for humanity? Strangely enough it is 53 teenagers who board the Lazarus, a prototype spaceship, to search for a new world. This book has two very strong women in the lead — the First Daughter of the united States and the Commander’s daughter.
I enjoy survivalist stories — and this book is the ultimate — and an interesting look at human nature. Is it possible for 53 diverse youngsters get their act together and not just work together, but solve the myriad problems they are facing?
Riley Redgate is a very talented writer. I enjoyed her world-building — or in this case spaceship-building. And it was fun to read about this group of kids who must deal with not just their angsty-teenage problems, but with learning about leadership and the need to work together if they are going to survive.
