Lawrence Block has been a good friend to Joy on Paper.
It has been an honor to interview him for his books–including the wonderful anthologies that he has curated. On of my favorites is In Sunlight & in Shadow, stories inspired by the paintings of Edward Hopper.
Delia Ephron, a bestselling NYT author is a also a screenwriter. Her films include You’ve Got Mail and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. In Siracusa she is a rather dark look at marriage set in the unusual city in Sicily.
One of the best four-person narrations of a book–the narrators capture the characters. It’s like watching a movie.
My Life in Full is written and perfectly narrated by Indra Nooyi, the former CEO of PepsiCo. Not many business memoirs make you laugh and crym but I had tears in my eyes when she wrote about her mother. A valuable book that gives insights into the struggles and incredible joys the first woman of color to head a major US corporation.
The Last Mona Lisa by Jonathan Santlofer is a dual time–Paris of today and the Paris of 1900s when the Mona Lisa was stolen from the Louvre Museum. A tense thriller by the award-winning crime writer.
When they make the movie in Paris I am going to go and watch!

I even interviewed the US Poet Laureate! I love them all!
I started reading at the age of two–Beatrix Potter the author of Peter Rabbit started at three!
