Celebrating the joy of words...
The first major poet I ever heard was Robert Bly, whose daughter, Eloisa James, was one of my first guests. I was very young, perhaps eight or nine, and for some reason we were at an event where he spoke in Minnesota. All I remembered was this big booming voice and from that point onward I loved poetry.
My goal with Joy on Paper is to encourage everyone to find the joy of writing and reading. Few things in life are as enjoyable as knowing that your words can make a difference in a persons life. Start finding your joy on paper by becoming a good reader. Read everything and don't forget poetry. It is the pure art of words. As you read a poem you will be struck by how a few words can -- in the hands of a someone with heart and soul -- touch you to your very core.
