Money Out Load by Berna Anat

What fun to talk about math and moneytwo of my favorite subjectswith Berna Anat, the author of MONEY OUT LOUD: All the Financial Stuff No One Taught Us.

I literally do quadratic equations for breakfast. I solved this morning’s problem is three minutes: (x +3)(x-5)=5

Berna doesn’t make you learn quadratic equations (although you should)she makes it a little easier. With the joy of knowing she is helping people to get a grip on their finances she approaches the subject step-by-step. Starting with the ideal concept that comes in should be more than what goes out, she brings a smart perspective on the world of finances.

One day she woke up and realized that she was in deep trouble with $48K in student loans and $12K in credit card debt. What did she do? Well, read the book and see how she discovered the secret of finance–if you spend more than you have, you are in trouble. While she was working her way out of debt and into financial security at the same time, she realized that her tough life lessons would be good for everyone.

Money Out Loud is perfect for the GenZ generation and Millenials–but also for everyone else who has failed to get themselves out of debt or hope not to ever go in that direction.

Berna tackles the subjects like interest rates and credit ratings in a logical and easy to understand manner. Everyone will benefit from this book, but if you know anyone who is graduating from high school or college, this is definitely the best gift you can give them. Well, plus a few shares of Amazon and Apple.

Berna Anat is smart and clever. MONEY OUT LOUD is easy to understand and her suggestions easy to follow. So say, “Hey, Berna” and visit her website to find out more: heyberna.com

Some praise for Berna Anat's Money Out Loud...

“Money Out Loud belongs in every classroom, every new grad gift list, and in my opinion, every bookshelf no matter your age. Berna has a way of breaking down financial concepts that speaks to the inner kid and grown-up in all of us. You’ll definitely want to buy two copies: One for someone you want to inspire, and one for yourself, so you can start (or restart) your financial journey together.” — Tiffany Aliche, New York Times bestselling author of Get Good With Money

“Berna Anat has captured the humanity of personal finance, proving that money doesn’t have to be a heartless and dusty affair. This book will speak to a new generation of wealth builders, including those who belong to communities of color that have long been ignored by the financial industry.” — Delyanne Barros, host of CNN’s Diversifying

Berna Anat is everybody’s fun, money savvy auntie, helping you shake your imposter syndrome and hype yourself up. A true supporter of women and BIPOC, she blends sass with savings, and charisma with career, to help make money fun again.” — Vivian Tu, Founder and CEO of Your Rich BFF

“In addition to covering the basics (financial habits, aka “Your Money Story,” budgeting, bank accounts, savings, debt, credit, student loans, investing, and financial activism), [Anat] explores topics not often mentioned in other finance books, such as the financial impact of systemic inequity that exists for Black and brown folks, advice for the undocumented, mutual aid funds, land tax, and socially responsible investing. A refreshing, honest, useful tell-it-like-it-is financial guide.” — Booklist (starred review)

I could give you the answer to:

(x +3)(x-5)=5.

But I won’t. Firstly, if you are a mystery lover or mystery writer, then you should want to know how to find “X’ — after all, that is what a mystery is about. Finding the missing person or, in this case, number. Secondly, if you have gone through college and don’t know how to do a quadratic equat6ion then perhaps you should ask for a refund. And it is no excuse to allow yourself to think math is boring. It is not boring if you look on it as an exercise to stimulate the neurons in your brain. Just for that benefit alone I hope you will sit down and figure it out. It’s just mystery to tackle.

A few great reviews for Jane Wunderly mystery series...
