My What If Year by Alisha Fernandez Miranda
A funny and heartwarming memoir about four internships, three countries, two kids and one life-changing misadventure.
It was meant to be! Sometimes books come to me just a the right time. I really needed something fun. Something that would give me a kick! And just when I thought I would read Peter Mayle’s a Year in Provence, a brilliant publicist (Martha), sent me Alisha Fernandez Miranda’s My What If Year. Isn’t it curious that both books are about an interesting year in someone’s life. What joy it is to have a year that is worth writing about–and sharing it with everyone.
This is going down as one of my favorite interviews. And not just because it starts off with some gals drinking in the Coral Room at the Bloomsbury Hotel. I call this one of my golden threads books. Books that connect in so many way with my own life. Miranda can be silly about thigs, just like me. And she gets a kick out of things–little things. And she finds joy in sharing her stories. Do get her book–I think it is inpiring. It is a boon of wonder. Wonding what you can do? Wondering about the world. It is, to put it simply, a wonder! Enjoy our interview. I’m sure you will find it amusing!
