I don’t often wish that I had a television programI love radiobut when it comes to PAUL ROSOLIE, well, it would be fun to have him in the studio.  Of course, he would definitely bring an anaconda, which is a bit scary — but if he did push-ups I wouldn’t mind. Authors do a lot for a story, but I think Paul is the only one who has ever taken a ride on a 26-foot anaconda! Yikes.

The Girl and the Tiger is another great book from the author of Mother of God, a memoir about how a Brooklyn boy became a globally recognized explorer and environmentalist. He is the founder of Junglekeeprs and has been awarded by the United Nations Global Forum for his shore-film, “An Unseen World” about the hidden forests of the Amazon. The Wall Street Journal has applauded his call-to-arms for its “rare immediacy and depth.” He has appeared on all the major networks to raise awareness of the need to protect endangered animals across the globe and has raised millions of dollars for the protection of the Amazon.

You will enjoy my interview with Paul about The Girl and the Tiger, a true story about a girl in India who asked him about saving a Bengal tiger cub.

More about the book:

This is a unique coming of age story set in modern India told about a young girl, Isha, who loves animals – and they love her. Her parents called her the Saint of Little Things. Isha was happy when she was sent to spend the summer with her grandparents in a village in the country. When she learns that a Bengal tiger is threatened in the ever-shrinking forest near the village, she decides to save him. Her crusades becomes the catalyst for an arduous journey of awakening and survival.

Paul Rosolie writes an adventure story that blends many elements–the politics of the region, the attitude of the villagers, and the growing environmental tragedy to the endangered animals. Filled with memorable characters including Thimma and his blind elephant. It is an important story that is exciting, heartbreaking, and inspiring.

Paul Rosolie’s MOTHER OF GOD is a fast-paced story of his extraordinary adventures. A real life thriller about how at the age of 17 he decided to set out on an adventure that would turn into a life-long devotion to saving the Amazon and endangered species around the world. He captures all the danger and thrills of the jungle when he goes alone into unexplored territory because he doesn’t want to create an intrusive footprint. His writes with such passion for the wildlife and the forests he discovers that readers will find themselves immersed in a book that Jane Goodall calls it “gripping.”

Mother of God is a book that you will never forget. It opens up so many subjects to think about — including how a passion can become a journey of a lifetime. How many young people realize that they can turn their passion into something good for the world? IT IS A PERFECT GIFT.

And perhaps at the same time you can become a ‘Junglekeeper” and feel the joy of doing something imporant.

Find out about the Junglekeepers’ program to protect 250,000 hectares of land in the Peruvian Amazon by empowering local communities and create a continuous corridor of protection for a vulnerable part of the Amazon.
