It was so much fun to talk to Jane Healy about her new book: GOOD NIGHT FROM PARIS. What a wonderful book! I was thrilled to discover that there are so many ‘golden threads’ in this book–those are special little things that connect me with the authors I love and whose books mean so much to her. In this case, well, let’s just say: Paris! I went there are on my second honeymoon and then many times after that while I was living in England. In those days it was easy to just hop over to Paris for a few days. There were no security problems. The travel was cheap. And hotels and food were great,
What luck to come across the idea for this story. This is what writers do–one little sentence can send them on a journey of discovery. She traveled to Paris and envrons to seek out details for her story. She visited museums. This is the part of that JOY on paper that I always talk about. Research is so much fun. Of course, in Paris she had to eat the foods that her characters would have eater! So it was fun to talk to Jane about the food, the drinks, and the streets where Drue Leyton once walked.
