I enjoyed getting to know May Kathleen Mehuron and to talk about BELONGER.
There are so many things I like about this romance with some thrilling action in an exotic location. After reading this book I want to vacation on the Turks and Caicos and just lay around reading and sipping tall cool drinks. And doing quadratic equations with the author–who was a math teacher! Wow, now that’s my idea of a oervect vacation.
Not only is she a math whiz, Mary Kathleen Mehuron is a very talented writer. She obviously loves her adopted home-away-from-home and the months that she spends every year in this gorgeous locations. She makes you want to get there asap!
Her main character, Holly Walker, is someone who is intriguing. She’s had her share of life’s ups and downs. Readers will relate. And as for Lord Anthony Bascombe, well, he adds some needed spice to the story. He says he is descended from pirates, which might be true. He’s a bit of a treasure.
One of the best parts of the book is getting to know Cockburn Town, where Holly owns an inn. It’s off the tourist route and the people are friendly and all have their own interesting bcksgrounds.
When a Category 5 hurricane hits the island, Holly will discover whether she belongs on the island. Her grown son, Byron, and his father, are caught up in the storm that not everyone will survive.
As the epic storm swirls around her, the author propels readers into a dramatic climax.
Everyone who reads the book will want to head to the Turks and Caicos. The tourist bureau should name her their “Goodwill, Ambassador” and sell her books at the The Grand Turk Cruise Center.
One day I will be strolling in Cockburn Town shouting, “Kathy, Kathy, where are you?” If you get there before I do, give Mary Kathleen a hug from me. She’s delightful. And one heck of a good writer! Enjoy our interview. I did…
