I absolutely loved chatting with Ebony! She is so adorable….

And what can I say — the title is just perfect: LOVE RADIO!  And it takes place in Detroit! Wow, just the book for me.

This is Ebony’s first bookbut once you find that joy on paper, you can’t stop writing. So she is already working on Book #2.

Although it is promoted as a Black romance novel, there is universal appeal from this very talented author. It is smart and clever and the writing — about a girl, Dani Ford, who wants to become a famous writer is spot on! Because Ebony is going to be that famous writer. That Dani is town between her future and her present — with a strong and focused plan for her future, makes the story feel so realistic. Probably not too different from what Ebony has gone through to get to this point in her life.

The main characters have real depth — it goes beyond a young man, Prince Jones, who offers romance advice on a segment of Detroit’s popular hip-hop show, Love Radio. But this 17-year old has many challenges, including having to step up to be the man of the family and to care for a mother suffering from MS.

Coming from Detroit, I spent my youth listening to great music on the radio as I drove down Woodward Avenue. So I appreciated the soundtrack suggestions and I’m sure other readers feel the same

LOVE RADIO played like a movie in my head — I love when that happens.  .

I have invited Ebony to come back to Joy on Paper soon so that we can talk more about her love of reading — and writing — and her interest in publishing and promoting authors.
