A Flicker of a Douby by Daryl Wood Gerber

A Fairy Garden Mystery – Book #4

Set in one of my favorite locations–Carmel, California–this series is a winner. A Flicker of a Doubt is the latest by Daryl Wood Gerber. Her main character, Courtney Kelly, is my kind of gal. She is crafty–and has created a profitable business making miniature fairy gardens. Every time I read one of the books in this series I wonder why I haven’t done it! I love making little gardens which were always a big hit with home schooling groups.

In this latest adventure, Courtney’s gardens are being featured at a tea and art show at a wealthy estate. When a dead body shows up, she has to do a wee bit of detective work with the help of Fiona, a resident fairy. Lots of red herrings and a few dramatic twists will keep you turning the pages.

I really enjoy creative world building. It’s like being a kid again to think about what fairyland would look like. Or should I saydoes look like? Reading this series you can’t help but imagine Wendy telling Peter Pan: I believe. I believe.
