Davon Miller was the Guest Host on June 29, 2023 to talk about two of his favorite books.
His first guests were Amanda Pearlstein and her father, Howard Pearlstein, who joined Davon Miller to talk about their latest book: THE LIEBRARY.
It is a rhyming tale about what happens when a family takes every word to heart. The consequences can be hilarious and eye-opening. What happens if the books they read give them the wrong ideas?
The father/daughter team share their journey to working together to create a book that follows what happens when Mikayla and Drew read books that aren’t actually true. Can you swim with alligators? Or eat candles like vitamins? It’s amusingly confusing, but at tue same time makes the point that people have to think about what they are reading.
It is beautifully illustrated by Maren Amini, who captures the funny mayhem that ensues when the kids take a book literally.
Davon had fun discussing the Pearlstein’s love for writing and how working together has enriched their lives.
